Aspen Publishing is seeking an experienced, strategic, and growth-oriented marketing leader to serve as Assistant Director for Enrollment Strategy & Institutional Adoption, JD-Next. This senior-level role is responsible for shaping and executing a comprehensive marketing enrollment and institutional adoption strategy for JD-Next, the innovative law school admissions assessment program. This role is open to Boston-based candidates to work in our Burlington, MA office on a hybrid office/work-from-home schedule. Remote candidates will also be considered.

The ideal candidate brings an understanding of the legal profession, strong marketing skills, a strategic mindset, the ability to oversee and grow a business unit or product line, and a passion for transforming legal education. Experience in higher education, admissions, student recruitment, or a legal background is strongly preferred. This individual must thrive in a fast-moving environment and be able to both architect and operationalize plans that drive measurable enrollment growth and increase institutional adoption among law schools. SALARY RANGE: MIN $121K/ MID $148/ MAX $178K

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for growing JD-Next’s national enrollment and expanding its adoption and effective use across law schools; own the end-to-end enrollment and institutional adoption strategy for JD-Next, ensuring the program is well understood, appropriately positioned, and meaningfully integrated into law school admissions and pre-law advising processes. Play a central role in shaping how institutions, advisors, and prospective applicants understand JD-Next’s value as a law school readiness assessment and admissions tool; blend enrollment strategy, institutional engagement, and market knowledge, using sound judgment, strong data fluency, and a deep appreciation for how law schools evaluate applicants to support matriculating students. Work cross-functionally with Aspen’s Psychometrics, Program, Student Success, Sales, and Communications teams to translate institutional needs and admissions realities into clear enrollment strategies and adoption pathways. Represent JD-Next externally, engaging directly with law school decision-makers, academic administrators, and pre-law advising networks to build and support sustained growth and long-term institutional confidence in the program.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Leadership
  • Develop, oversee, and implement the comprehensive marketing strategy to drive enrollment for JD-Next, including yearly planning, goal setting, positioning, tactical implementation and performance management.
  • Identify strategic opportunities to increase institutional usage across law schools, admissions offices, pre-law advising networks, and related stakeholders.
  • Serve as the primary marketing liaison across JD-Next internal teams.
Growth and Enrollment Management
  • Develop and implement multi-channel strategies to build awareness, grow the prospect pipeline, and ensure steady enrollment growth for JD-Next as a law school admissions assessment.
  • Manage the entire consumer communication system (email journeys, nurture paths, content strategy, and CRM optimization).
  • Oversee message development, brand alignment, and strategies to improve conversion across the funnel stage.
Institutional Adoption
  • Lead strategic outreach initiatives to law schools that increase institutional adoption and strengthen existing relationships.
  • Partner with the sales team to develop and execute initiatives that promote JD-Next and related institutional offerings.
  • Represent JD-Next at conferences, events, and meetings with law school leaders, admissions staff, and pre-law advisors.
  • Form external partnerships to strengthen JD-Next’s role in the law school and pre-law communities.
Marketing Execution
  • Manage integrated marketing campaigns across digital, social, email, PR, and event channels with a focus on measurable enrollment growth.
  • Lead and collaborate with external communications firms to enhance JD-Next’s national visibility and reputation.
  • Oversee the development of creative assets, brand materials, and student-facing communications.
  • Measure, analyze, and report on campaign performance using analytics tools; turn insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Perform continuous competitive analysis, market evaluations, and stakeholder research to guide strategic decisions.
Leadership and Collaboration
  • Provide senior-level guidance to internal teams that streamline marketing, product, and operational functions.
  • Mentor junior staff contributing to JD-Next initiatives; help foster a strong culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation.
  • Support PR efforts to highlight program results, institutional collaborations, and student success stories.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field preferred; Master’s degree or J.D. a plus.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience building brand awareness, with at least 2–3 years in a senior strategic or leadership role.
  • Proven experience in owning or managing a product line, business unit, or revenue-driving initiative.
  • Demonstrated success in building and executing integrated marketing and growth strategies.
  • Experience in higher education marketing, admissions, student recruitment, or legal education preferred.
  • JD, high-stakes testing, or law school admissions experience preferred.
  • Business development experience is strongly preferred, especially with or within academic institutions or professional services organizations.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver against deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills with a record of using data to drive decisions.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
  • Skilled in CRM systems, marketing automation tools, analytics platforms, and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to represent JD-Next professionally at conferences, events, and institutional meetings.
  • Ability to travel domestically as needed.
